David is a journalist by trade, having worked in national and local press and publishing for more than 25 years.

In the world of local newspapers, he was previously editor of Yourthanet and deputy editor of Kent on Sunday; before that, he had been deputy editor of Birdwatch magazine.The latter role was something of a dream job as David has been a keen birdwatcher for much of his life.

This interest inevitably involves the wider natural environment and he became involved with such groups as Thanet CPRE (Council to Protect Rural England), where he held the position of chairman for some four years, and Manston Airport Group, where he stood on the committee as environment member.Today David is working freelance, still in the field of publishing.
